Dr. Eve Epsey
Eve Espey, MD MPH is a Distinguished Professor and Chair of the Department of Ob/Gyn at the University of New Mexico. She is the past President of the Society of Family Planning and Chair of the ACOG Contraceptive Equity Expert Work Group as well as immediate past President of the Council of University Chairs of OB-GYN. She started her career as an OB-GYN physician at the Gallup Indian Medical Center and has been on faculty at UNM since then. She is dedicated to mentoring students and providing support to the next generation of healthcare professionals. She led the development of a Center of Excellence in Family Planning at UNM. She is also committed to improving access to reproductive healthcare in the state and nationally and to reducing pregnancy related harm and mortality in New Mexico. She has numerous publications in contraception, abortion and medical education and has presented locally and nationally on these topics.

Dr. Douglas ZiedonisDouglas Ziedonis, MD, MPH, is the Executive Vice President for Health Sciences and Chief Executive Officer for the UNM Health System at the University of New Mexico. As EVP, he oversees the UNM School of Medicine and Colleges of Nursing, Pharmacy, and Population Health. He was Associate Vice Chancellor for Health Sciences at the University of California San Diego and has had other roles as Chief Academic Officer, President of UMass Memorial Behavioral Health Services, Department Chair, and Board of Trustee. He is a Distinguished Professor in Psychiatry with an academic career focused on critical public health and health concerns, such as health equity, homelessness, addictions, mental illness, and healthy aging. He had led and sponsored numerous faculty development initiatives throughout his career, including overseeing Faculty and Academic Affairs Offices, developing department-level Career Development A/R Grant Writing Programs and Research Offices, Mentoring and Leadership Programs, Executive Coaching Initiatives, and a Leadership College.
